I woke up around nine, not too bad. No alarm and I felt refreshed. I’ve been hitting the hay around 11 for the past few days. My bride is still spending every hour not at her main job, at her second job. So I decided to get a couple of things done in the guest room while it warms up outside.
By the time I got down there with the Dyson, speaker system, condenser, and heater core, it was already 1:45. First things first get some tunes kicking. I’m currently using a pink 11” Asus laptop running windows 10. It is very slow but it works and as a leftover from my girls, it’s free. The sound is awesome for the Bluetooth Harmon Kardon speaker it was a gift from my bride 10 years ago. I look at the two 15” Berenger monitors that are waiting to be hung up. Then see the amp I bought from Amazon to drive them and think to myself. Another project for another day.
The day is gorgeous and I think it’s perfect to pull the front end of the truck into the shop and pull the engine. Now I start thinking and possibly too much. I don’t have the space to fit the truck. I can move the mig welder towards the back easily enough, but the disassembled shelves and the TBI engine parts are everywhere.
Speaking of the TBI engine, it really needs to be assembled and removed from the engine stand so I can use it for the Vortec. I’m starting to feel unmotivated. I grab a water and take a quick break.
After changing the music for the NFC championship game, I decide to do some cleanup. The little shed nextdoor has space for garden tools, so I decide to rearrange a little to make it easier to maneuver.
This shop still has all the contents the previous owner left in it. As far as I can tell that was back in about the 1970s. For now I’m just going to add my outdoor hand tools and some small engine tools to it.
The space made should be perfect for the shelf parts
Shelf parts get moved and I manage to empty a crate a tub and a bucket. I find 4 different hurricane lanterns and put them up on a perloin up out of the way. I have a couple of antique camping lanterns that need to join them, but my step stool is being used to holed truck batteries for charging . Back over by the big door, I label and bag the oil pan bolts for the TBI. After putting them away I decided, as my short attention span tends to allow me to, to do something different. I really like bottle openers. I have decided to make a couple for my drinking buddies.
I pulled Thais board off a pallet, it has just the right weathering. this one is for a buddy who has a second home in Costa Rica. But instead of Pura Vida, I am going to brand it with Pura Muerte, to go with the skull. I hope he digs it enough to put it up next to his patio griddle. I really like how the wood grain looks like an aura with a beard around the skull. Since I don’t have my wood burning tool down in the shop so I will have to finish this project later.
After a little more cleanup, both my thighs started burning. It is a minor form of sciatica. Sucks getting old. I grab a water chug it down, turn the lights off lock up the shop and head to the house. I didn’t work on the truck but I did get a lot accomplished.
