I have wanted to build a plasma cutting table since the day I got the plasma cutter. I have used a variety of different objects to cut on, including the floor, a tree stump, two plastic chairs, a set of saw horses and a piece of plywood. Invariably the cuts have been negatively effected by the instability and sometimes flammability of the supporting object. I have seen a couple of good tables, some are just wire mesh, some are water filled, some are very elaborate with venting systems etc. I plan on making something like the Eastwood table with replaceable slats but with a water try underneath.
Eastwoods design dimensions:
The Eastwood Plasma Cutting Table Features:
- Sturdy, Carbon Steel Construction
- Supports Up To 250 lbs.
- 23 Replaceable Slats
- 32″H x 21″W x 30″ L
If you are interested in buying one you can purchase it here: https://www.eastwood.com/ew-plasma-cutting-table.html
I also like the idea of putting the whole thing on rails under the welding table as an attachment. I have very little floor space to add another four legged tool.
There are numerous different styles of table, the ones above is missing something i think is useful, a way to capture the debris and sparks that go through the metal. A tray below the slats that can hold a layer of water works well, it will need a drain since it will get dirty quickly.
